Hey everybody! I’d like to introduce you to Winnie!
SOLD
Meet Winnie, Winnie is a 1973 Chevrolet Vega powered by a 350 V8 engine with a 4 bolt main and a 2 speed power glide transmission. Now if you one of those people who like to live your life a quarter mile at a time then this car is for you. This car has been in the same family since new. Winnie was originally sold to the owners of an undercoating shop outside Brantford Ontario and the owners wife drove it for several years. It was then used as a courtesy car at which point the original 4 cylinder engine gave up the ghost and Winnie was passed down to the owners son who proceeded to go ahead and do the V8 swap. I know that if you’re truly interested in Winnie you’re likely a performance enthusiast so here are the Spec’s you’ve been waiting for:
The block is from a 1978 Chevy Pickup and as stated earlier it has a 4 bolt main , steel crank and forged aluminum pistons with 1.94 cylinder heads and a Cam Dynamics Enforcer camshaft kit.(cam spec’s not available)
All machine work was done by Douglas machine shop in Brantford ON. It has an Edelbrock TM1 intake with a 650 cfm dual feed Holley carb with mechanical secondaries. Accell dual point tach drive distributor. Hooker V8 Vega mount kit and headers. Moroso V8 Vega oil pan.
The power glide transmission has a 3500 rpm stall converter as well as a shift kit and a B&M Quick Click shifter. The rear end is a narrowed 8 ¾ inch Chrysler sure grip with 3:23 – 1 gears. Winnie also has Crager Street Super Trick wheels and stainless steel exhaust A Stewart Warner mini gauge set is installed as well as a fibreglass lift off cowl hood. Winnie also has a Griffin aluminum rad and electric fans which allow the car to run all day on a hot afternoon without overheating As you can tell from the build this is an old school car set up to run on the street and the strip. The 350 give you almost too much power considering the car still has manual brakes and steering but the 323 rear end allows you to cruise along with out having the engine screaming at you drive. The interior has been redone and is in excellent shape. The only real flaw with Winnie is the paint finish which shows signs of wrinkling and orange peel due to the nature of the job that was donwe with lacquer paint. As I mentioned , the owners had an undercoating shop so this car was well preserved with no rust.
If you’re looking for a car that you just don’t see any more to take to the track or the cruise night this is the car for you!
Now Winnie is officially sold but if this is the type of car you are looking for please still feel free to contact us a memorymotorsca@aol.com or call us at 905-537-3673 and we’d be happy to help you!
