Thumper – 1961 AMC Rambler

Hello everybody! I’d like to introduce you to Thumper.

Thumper is a 1961 AMC Rambler. Powered by a 6 cylinder aluminum block engine and a push button automatic transmission. This car came to us as part of a collection from Northern Ontario. We have documents as many of the issues as possible with the appearance of this 50 year old car and based on the pictures alone you may already be having second thoughts. Let me reassure you that this car runs and drives very well. In fact we would be willing to sell this car certified for the right price as it would only need a few minor repairs  and new tires. As shown in the pictures the roof is covered in surface rust or as they call it these days “ patina”. This could be repainted but many people I’ve talked to said they would just give it a light sanding and cover it with clearcoat. While the seats need recovering the remaining trim panels are in excellent shape and the underside of this car is very solid. The engine runs smooth and we’ve been told that having one of these aluminum block motors in good running condition is quite rare. In addition the pushbutton transmission is also a unique feature and operates as intended. This is a good, affordable, entry level driver classic car for someone who is looking for a car to have some fun with. After you’ve reviewed all the pictures if you would like to make an appointment to see Thumper in person or to go for a test drive please contact us at memorymotorsca@aol.com or give us a call at 905-537-3673.
