Carol – 1972 Ford LTD

SOLD

Hey everybody! I’d like to introduce you to Carol.

Carol is a 1972 Ford LTD convertible powered by a 351 Cleveland M V 8 and a 3 speed C6 transmission. The car came to us from the wife of the previous owner who lived in Northern Ontario. With the way this car looks in the pictures the colour is absolutely beautiful but let me be the first to tell you that once you get closer there’s been some fairly major bodywork done to the rear quarter panels. As shown in some of the close up pictures, there are dimples and ripples in the finish and a couple of minor cracks as well. This definitely doesn’t mean that this car is destined for the scrap heap. In fact, all the panels line up quite well and the car is by no means an eyesore so the next owner could take the time to repair the rear quarters or simply driver her as is and get many years of enjoyment out of her. The aftermarket wheels and tires are in excellent shape. Unfortunately, the OE wheels are not available. The interior is in really good condition, but you will notice that the previous has attempted to cover some speaker holes in the door panel with vinyl patches, which certainly look better than just leaving holes in the doors. Personally, I would have just left the speaker grilles in there instead. Probably the biggest problem with Carol is the top. As you may have seen in the pictures the top has a hole on the driver’s side which has been covered with tape. A new top can be purchased for $350.00 and we may go ahead with this as well but there’s another issue. The power motor has been disconnected so the top currently must be lifted up and down manually, which is difficult to do as a one-person task. We will be digging into this to see what needs to be corrected. The car is also equipped with an aftermarket stereo which is operational. The previous owner also installed a remote kill switch which is functional as well. There is a boot for the convertible top that’s in good condition with all the fasteners still in place, which covers the top nicely when its down. The car runs and drives really well with the typical floating sensation of these old 70’s cruisers.

Now Carol is officially sold but if this is the type of car you are looking for please still feel free to contact us a memorymotorsca@aol.com or call us at 905-537-3673 and we’d be happy to help you!
