Hey everybody! I’d like to introduce you to Amy.
Amy is a 1962 Oldsmobile Dynamic powered by a 330 V8 engine with a 2 barrel carburetor and a 3 speed roto hydra matic transmission. Amy came to us from a collector in northern Ontario who claims that she was originally sold in the US but we’ve been unable to confirm this. In addition the mileage shown on the car is claimed to be original as well but we have been unable to confirm this either. Judging from the condition of the car it certainly seems believable. With the exception of the rocker panels the paint and finish on this car is in pretty good condition. Based on information from the previous owner the paint and body work were redone in the mid 80’s. The chrome and other exterior trim on this car are definitely in better than average condition as well. The interior of the car is in excellent shape as shown in the photos with the exception of the bottom of the driver door trim panel which has some tape holding it on. The power bench seat is fully functional. The headliner shows some staining but is still all in one piece. We didn’t try to do much to clean it up in fear of damaging the fabric but its all still in place and properly mounted. Mechanically the car runs and drives very well. It doesn’t have the same acceleration as Troy, our 63 Wildcat, which shares the same platform as Amy but its no slouch either. One of my favorite features of this car is the thermometer style speedometer which is green in colour up to 35 mph then changes to oranges until you hit 65 mph at which time it turns red. We will be replacing all 4 wheels cylinders on the car as there was some minor seepage noted when we pulled the wheels and the exhaust pipes need to be rerouted to their proper place behind the rear wheel. We also have to sort out the wiper motor, which doesn’t seem to be working properly at this point. We managed to get the radio to power up but there’s no sound so we suspect there’s an issue with the wiring to the front speakers.
